Kristyn Turns a Four-Week Slide Into a Crown

Week 8 — Fancy Football X

Morrison’s royal rebound

Congratulations to Kristyn Morrison, who snapped a four-week losing streak by capturing the Week 8 crown with 179.90 points. Her new season-best score cleared runner-up Bryan Daley by 8.14 points and added $70 to her season winnings.

Kristyn built the victory around Tee Higgins’ 40.50 points and Bhayshul Tuten’s 32.90. Bucky Irving supplied another 25.00, while lightly drafted Luther Burden III contributed 18.60 at just 5.3% ownership. Even with only three points from the Chargers D/ST, every member of her lineup scored—and that stability mattered in a week filled with zeroes.

Big scores and bigger badges

Bryan finished second at 171.76 despite receiving zero points from Emeka Egbuka. He shared Kristyn’s two biggest plays, Higgins and Tuten, and added 19 points from the Steelers D/ST. Jake Minick landed only 0.66 points behind Bryan, riding a Joe Burrow–Ja’Marr Chase pairing for 79.58 combined points.

With Burrow scoring 45.48, Jake became the 15th person in Fancy Football history to earn Gunslinger while finishing third. Bob Wand also rostered Burrow and became the 13th person in Fancy Football history to earn Gunslinger with an eighth-place finish. Michael Petty became the 14th person in Fancy Football history to earn Gunslinger, with Burrow helping him hold onto 18th place and a win despite three zeroes elsewhere in his lineup.

Steven Thomas finished fourth with 168.62, powered by the week’s boldest successful one-off: Harold Fannin Jr. scored 27.40 points at a $4,200 salary. Steven was the 3rd person in Fancy Football history to earn Raking it in, placing in the top 10% for a third consecutive week.

The chalk turned to dust

No landmine caused more damage than Zay Flowers. He scored zero points at a $7,200 salary while appearing in 10 lineups, making him the week’s second-most popular receiver. Connor Buxton remarkably survived the miss and finished fifth behind Higgins, Josh Allen, and Jaylen Warren, but only three of the 10 Flowers lineups reached the top half.

Omar Cooper Jr. also gave seven contestants a zero, while Tre Tucker blanked in all five of his appearances. Those failures were especially painful because the slate offered enormous alternatives: Adonai Mitchell scored 30.20 for his lone drafter, and Tony Pollard produced 31.70 at only 2.6% ownership.

Twelve hundredths decide the cut

The final win came down to the narrowest margin of the week. Cameron Mahoney finished 19th with 123.80 points, edging Brian Salisbury’s 123.68 by just 0.12. Cameron’s 19 points from the Steelers D/ST proved vital, while Brian’s lineup had to absorb zero from Tucker and only 1.30 from J.K. Dobbins.

Mike Fior had a happier cut-line story. His 134.18 points were good for 12th place, ending a seven-week losing streak and securing his first top-half finish of the season. His unique selection of D’Andre Swift, who scored 27.90 points, led the breakthrough.
