Rana Away With the Crown

Week 7 — Fancy Football X

From six straight losses to first place

Congratulations to Jordan Rana, who emphatically ended a six-week losing streak by earning his first crown with 153.86 points. Jordan cleared the field by 12.08 points and collected $70 after entering the week without any winnings.

His lineup combined Tee Higgins’ 29.80 points with 27.20 from Amon-Ra St. Brown, 21.80 from Puka Nacua, and 22.40 from Braelon Allen. The sharpest selection was Eli Raridon, who delivered 14.60 points at a $2,600 salary while appearing in no other lineup.

Not every pick had to work. Jordan Rana became the 10th person in Fancy Football history to earn Don't Need 'Em, winning the week despite getting zero points from Kalif Raymond. Even with that empty slot and only one point from the Raiders D/ST, the rest of his lineup provided more than enough firepower.

Lars leads a sleeper-powered chase

Lars Rikardsen took second with 141.78 points behind the week’s highest drafted score, 34.30 from Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He also hit on 26.18 points from Bo Nix and 25.50 from Omar Cooper Jr., but finished well behind Jordan after receiving only 3.20 from Isaiah Likely.

Omar Cooper Jr. was one of the week’s defining value plays. The $4,100 sleeper appeared in four lineups, including those of Lars and third-place finisher Evan Devoe. Evan added 26.70 points from Luther Burden III and finished only 2.56 points behind Lars at 139.22.

Other low-owned explosions included 31.44 points from Drake Maye for Casey Oliver, 26.02 from Malik Willis for Mike Mckenna, and 24.30 from Tre Tucker for Michael Petty.

Popular picks offer mixed returns

The week’s biggest chalk, Matthew Golden, appeared in 43.6% of lineups but produced only 9.90 points. That was survivable for several contenders, although Jordan won without using him.

The more damaging land mines were Nico Collins and Jalen Coker. Each appeared in six lineups, but they combined for just 4.50 points. CJ O’Neil overcame Nico Collins to finish ninth, while Connor Buxton survived Jalen Coker and reached sixth thanks largely to Tee Higgins, Jameson Williams, and Caleb Williams.

Dale hangs onto the final win

The top-half cutoff came down to 1.78 points. Dale Strong claimed 19th place and the final win with 116.60, overcoming minus-four points from the Panthers D/ST behind 26.10 from Jameson Williams and 24.40 from CeeDee Lamb.

Jim Chrystal landed just outside the money in 20th at 114.82. His 30.70-point selection of Zay Flowers was one of the week’s best picks, but it was not enough to cross the line.
