A Crown for Lars

The inaugural week of Fancy Football VII crowned Lars Rikardsen as the king, thanks to an incredible performance by Tyreek Hill. Hill, a favorite among contestants, didn't disappoint, scoring a whopping 47.5 points thanks to his explosive offense, making him a must-have in any winning lineup. Lars also benefited from solid showings by Tua Tagovailoa (32.1 points) and Austin Ekeler (29.4 points). Overall, his calculated choices led him to an impressive 173.1 points, setting a high bar for the weeks to come.

Almost There: Nick's Close Call

Trailing closely behind was Nick Rohrbeck, who amassed 167.7 points. Nick's team was also powered by Tyreek Hill, paired effectively with standout performers like Calvin Ridley (27.1 points) and Aaron Jones (26.7 points). However, CeeDee Lamb's underwhelming 11.7 points might have been the difference in keeping him just shy of the crown. A few different choices could have possibly changed the course of this week’s victor.

From Sleeper to Star

A notable mention goes to Brandon Aiyuk, who emerged as a hidden gem, scoring an astonishing 35.9 points for CJ O'Neil. Drafted by only one contestant, Aiyuk's performance undoubtedly exceeded expectations and proved that taking a chance on lesser-drafted players can pay off in huge dividends.

Fumbled Fortunes

Not all fortunes were positive in Week 1. Tee Higgins and Aaron Rodgers were among the worst value picks, both ending the game with zero points. Rodgers' early exit due to an injury early in the game was a massive blow for those banking on his usual top-tier performances. Drake London and Dallas Goedert also failed to score, leaving their supporters empty-handed.

As Week 1 wraps up, the inaugural standings hint at what could be a highly competitive season. With brothers Lars and Kai Rikardsen both securing top spots, family bragging rights are sure to be at stake.
