The Reigning Champ

Congratulations to Zachary Wand, who ascended to the throne as Week 1's king with an emphatic score of 201.0 points in the league's opener. Zachary's meticulous drafting paid off, leading with solid performances from Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs, who scorched the field with a combined total of over 80 points. His wizard-like foresight in choosing Sammy Watkins boosted his lineup with a sleeper pick that many overlooked. Unfortunately, his choice of Antonio Gibson left a bit to be desired, contributing only 6.4 points.

Almost Royal

Trailing behind, Michael Petty claimed second place with a commendable 164.9 points, fueled by stellar contributions from Calvin Ridley. However, the 49ers D/ST held him back with a disappointing 4 points. Similarly, Charlie Weller deserves an honorable mention, placing third, thanks to the phenomenal performance of Davante Adams, though he was hindered by Jordan Howard’s meager tally of points, barely making a dent.

Chalk & Surprises

This week was full of surprises, especially for those who didn't succumb to the popular choices. Eric Wilde, managing a 4th place finish, opted for less conventional picks like Jamison Crowder, delivering an unexpected 27.5 points. On the flip side, Michael Thomas underperformed significantly despite his hefty salary, and a poor showing by Mark Ingram II hurt several lineups, leaving many players clutching their chalk boards in despair.

Noteworthy Performers

Some players stunned the field with high-value performances, notably Robby Anderson with 28.5 points for an economical salary. Additionally, Mitchell Trubisky revitalized his fantasy stock alongside Noah Fant, the latter finding his groove despite being drafted by only a single contestant. Unfortunately, several high-profile picks were disastrous, with JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Ted Ginn Jr. failing to score any points.
